PRIMAVERA by Mutina

unique and always different texture

Primavera is among the last Collections born in Mutina, presented at the Cersaie 2018, a few months ago, which will be sampled in a very short time.

Barber and Osgerby opened their London studio in 1996, having graduated from the Royal College of Art in London. Their multidisciplinary approach pushed the boundaries of industrial design, architecture and art. Their work includes collections for Knoll, Vitra, B & B Italia, Cappellini, Venini and Flos, limited edition pieces and commissions such as the London 2012 Olympic Torch and the £2 coin designed for the Royal Mint. The first extensive monograph on the pair was published by Rizzoli New York in 2011. They are both Royal Designers for Industry (RDI) and Honorary Doctors of Art. Their work is included in the permanent collections of museums around the world, such as the V&A and Design Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and Chicago’s Art Institute.

Brenda Emmanus met them for BBC “The Brits Who Designed the Modern World”, in which she profiled ten great living British designers, to find out what inspires them and explore how they have responded to society’s evolving tastes. The Italian Newspaper IlSole24, wrote about them “ Barber e Osgerby, while speaking with them, seemed to be as thery projects: accurate, simple, essential
Barber e Osgerby signed for Mutina Mews (2013) and Puzzle (2016), both available on our shop-online. www.bhc-shoponline.it. Now it’s Primavera time!
Primavera is the contrast between the natural element and the artificial world, translated into ceramic. The designers have reproduced a slab that resembles a natural element with all its irregularities, perceptible to sight and touch, by throwing small coloured ceramic inserts in a completely random way on five different mixture bases. This allows beautiful imperfections to emerge on the surface of the tiles, creating a unique and always different texture.
Primaver will soon be available in our store BHC MILANO, Via Maestri Campionesi, 20 – Milano and on our shop online!
